Glow in the Park - Cary, NC

Race #4 of 2014
I may not be the fastest runner, but I do like to walk and jog for 5k's. I am a bit addicted to getting out there and going for a run. It's always fun to get your friends out there with you even if you don't stick together while doing a 5k.
The best part of doing a 5k is the Swag Bag you'll get for registering! With this company, I was a bit disappoint! I love getting a number bib to add to my collection. This company gave us wrist band, but other than that, I love that we got a cute bag, T-Shirt, 1 glow necklace, 1 glow bracelet, 2 little lights, and each person got 1 pot of paint. The shirt really does glow in the dark!
I love doing Glow Runs! You get to put on your Neon Colors and get a little Glow Paint on!
This is my self with my daughter, Brie (behind me), my friend Tammy and her daughter, Annabelle (behind her). I think Brie looks more like Tammy's daughter than mine, but yes, Brie is mine! LOL! We are in the Starting Gate waiting for them to say go!
This is me running through a glow station! I like to live in my own world when running. It's all about me! Can I beat my time or keep it the same. I do this for ME and no one else!
Here is Brie going through the "Glow Foam" station! I really liked this station the best! This is our first run with Foam!
When you see the finish line, you sometime just need an encouraging push! Brie always waits for me at the end and will sometimes jump back into the race to push me along! She's always saying "Come on Mom, you're almost there! RUN!" Even though I'm exhausted and just want to walk, I grab all my left over energy and RUN!
I do like how this company gave us snacks (chips, oranges and bananas) and bottled water!
So in the end, I ended up with a 48 min 5k (3.1 miles). I did a lot of walking due to the fact that there was a lot of loose gravel, steep hills, and congestion of runners! This is by fast my slowest run time, but at least I got out there and did something! I was faster than the person sitting on the couch!
