September 20, 2014
This was super fun after we found a group to help us! It was crazy! But it is a scavenger hunt! So you need to know the area!
1. Selfie with a license plate with a "P". I only did 1 car.
(our friends were not very good at taking pictures)
3. Pilot filmed for Karen's Cafe
3. We werent sure which place it was, so we did 2 different places
5. Railroad - ACLR headquarters
6. News Station
8. Out of State ID - Im not posting this picture because we did an up close photo of a guys ID card and no one needs his personal information, but we found a guy from Tennessee!
9. Courthouse Dramas are filmed here!!
11. New Hanover High School - TV shows are filmed here!!
Our new friends who are from Wilmington. We came across them when we were just following people and came to our second clue. I asked them if they minded if we followed them because we had no clue what we are doing or going. They said yes! They knew where everything was.
If you dont know the area, ask another group if you can join them! You make new friends!
This was a lot of fun and I would definetly would do this again!!
Brie and I had so much fun! I will do this again! We ran all over the place down town!

The Finish Line is in site!!!
The After Party was Jamming!!
Brie and I!! Brie stuck with me the whole time, which was really nice. Usually I run alone and she goes off and waits at the finish line for me. It was really nice to have her with me the whole time! Not to many years left before she goes off to college!
I would highly recommend the Electric Run to my fellow runners! It was a blast!
Be aware that there is a $5 packet pick up fee for the race day. As it was explained to me, they have to staff more people for race day pick up packets. You can come the day before and pick up for free, but race day its $5. This covers the extra man power needed. I wasnt very happy about that since its not stated on their website or when you register. I've never been to a race that charges. Its discouraging to runners like myself that travel 3 hours to run.
Aside from that, this race was AWESOME! Will I do it again? Oh yeah! This is by far the best glow run and its totally worth the drive and money to participate! There is so many exciting "Lands" to visit! I cant even imagine how much it costs to put this event on! It was a blast!
Rockstar energy drinks is a sponsor and was giving away drinks. Brie took home 5 drinks and I ended up with 3. We also each got 1 before the race!
Find out when the Electric Run will be in your area an sign up! You wont regret it!

Running to Weight Loss
This is me May 2013(Right) and me May 2014 (Left)!
Running has helped me change my body!
Running has helped me change my body!
Last year, I didn't think I was that over weight. NO BODY TOLD ME! We went to Disney World for The Summit cheerleading competition! When I saw this picture I was so embarrassed of myself! I couldn't believe how fat I was! YES, I was fat!
Clean and Colored Pictures
In August, I saw a post on Facebook for "Run for the Colors" 5k run in Beaufort sponsored by Carteret General Hospital. I said to Megan that I really wanted to do this race! She said, "Ok, lets do this!". Then I was telling my dad about it and he said he would do it. Of course my daughter also wanted to do it. Also, one of our cheer moms also ran too!
I started training by doing just 1 mile as many days as I could. I had shin splints so bad that I would spend the rest of the day laying on the couch with ice packs on my legs! I got up to 2 miles before the race.
The day of the race came (Sept 21st) and it was time for the race! My dad was the best! He stuck with me and kept motivating me the whole time and talking to me! I couldn't have finished that race without him! I finished my first 5k with my dad by my side! We finished at 42.30 minutes!
This race jump started me into racing! I don't like to train to run. I train because I sign up for runs that I like to do! I love doing color, glow and now mud runs! I'm a bit of a selfish running. I don't sign up for runs just to do them. I need to have something involved in the run, like a color run!
Starting in January 2014, I got serious about my weight loss. I use to weigh 128 lbs in high school. I'll never see that on the scale again, but my goal weight is a healthy 150 lbs. I'm 33 and I have 2 kids! Being that thin is not in my future! However, a realistic goal of 150 lbs is obtainable and my doctor agrees!
Sept 2014 (left) and Sept 2013 (right)
I'm not super skinny, but I'm smaller than last year and a lot more confident in myself! I'm actually wearing compression shorts now!!!
I'm down 21.2 lbs since January this year! It's been a slow process but I'm getting to were I want to be! Sure its taken 9 months to drop 20 lbs, but my goal is to be down to 150 by next summer. I know I can do it!
I hope my story inspires you to get moving! Even if you just walk every few days for just a short distance, you're doing better than the person sitting on their couch doing nothing! Set realistic goals for yourself!

Run or Dye 5k
Sept 27, 2014
Sept 27, 2014
Here is why:
Last year I ran the Color Me Rad 5k at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It was jam packed full of people! I mean JAM PACKED!
Then in April I ran Color Me Rad 5k in Raleigh at Walnut Creek. I was shocked that as HUGE as Raleigh is, how little the event was. It was weird not seeing a lot of people at this run.
So when I got the email that Run or Dye was canceled, I wasnt upset or shocked. It just seems odd that being that Raleigh is a large city that more people wouldnt have registered. BUT also Run or Dye is new to the area and people probably didnt know about it and it probably wasnt advertised. I live 2 1/2 hours away from Raleigh, so I cant say for sure.
But I did chose to donate my money to charity and get my swag! I havent heard anything about the free socks, but thats ok. Maybe they will come closer next year and I'll register again!
